What certifications do your guides hold?
Our guides are industry leaders, holding certifications from the American Canyoning Association (ACA), Canyon Guides International, and Rescue 3 International for whitewater safety. Every lead guide is also trained in Wilderness First Aid to ensure the highest standard of care in remote environments.
Is previous experience required for canyoning or caving?
Absolutely not! We specialize in first-time experiences. Our 'Canyon Explorer' tours are specifically designed for beginners and families, providing all necessary training on-site. We move at your pace, ensuring you feel secure and confident every step of the way.
What happens if weather conditions are poor?
Safety is our non-negotiable priority. We monitor local water levels and weather charts daily. If conditions are deemed unsafe for canyoning, we will offer to reschedule your tour, transition to a land-based caving adventure (which is weather-independent), or provide a full refund.
Logistics
Where is the meeting point for tours?
Meeting locations vary by adventure. For South Island tours, we typically meet in Victoria or Port Renfrew. For Mid Island, meeting points are usually in Port Alberni or Courtenay. Exact GPS coordinates and directions will be sent in your confirmation package. For some locations, it is required to have a high clearance vehicle. Not all, but a select few.
What gear is provided and what do I need?
We provide all technical safety gear: helmets, harnesses, specialized canyoning wetsuits, and ropes. You just need to bring sturdy footwear that can get wet, a swimsuit, and a towel. A detailed gear list tailored to your specific trip will be provided during the booking process.
How long do the expeditions typically last?
Standard tours range from 4 to 8 hours depending on the difficulty and location. Multi-day expeditions can vary from 2 to 5 days. We include logistics time for fitting gear and safety briefings in all scheduled durations.
Do you provide transportation?
Usually, guests are required to provide their own transportation to the meeting point. For custom multi-day expeditions or larger groups, we can often arrange logistical support or shuttle services upon request.

Pricing for custom canyoning & caving
Pricing for our custom adventures varies based on the specific location of your tour, with South Island expeditions typically offering the most affordable options. Total costs are influenced by tour duration, client numbers, and any unique logistical considerations. Prices for these bespoke experiences start at $275, with typical day trip rates ranging between $300 and $700 per client.

What if I'm afraid of heights or small spaces?
It is perfectly normal to feel nervous. Our certified guides are trained to work with guests at their own pace. We use high-standard safety equipment and gradual progression so you always feel supported. For caving, we select routes that match your comfort level with space.
Expectations
What should I expect during a typical canyoning day?
Expect a day filled with rugged beauty. You will be walking through mountain streams, sliding down natural rock chutes, and rappelling down waterfalls. It is a physical day, but the rewards are secluded views few people ever see.
How physically fit do I need to be?
You should be comfortable walking on uneven terrain for several hours and have a moderate level of cardiovascular fitness. We tailor the pace to the group, but being active in your daily life will help you enjoy the experience more.
Logistics
What gear do I need to bring?
We provide all technical equipment including wetsuits, helmets, and harnesses. You just need to bring a swimsuit for under the wetsuit, sturdy footwear that can get wet (like trail runners or light hikers), and a sense of adventure.
Booking & Cancellation
How do I book a custom tour?
The best way to start is by filling out our Tour Request Questionnaire. This helps us understand your group's experience level and goals before we schedule a call to finalize the itinerary.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 14 days in advance receive a full refund minus a processing fee. Inside 14 days, we offer a credit for a future adventure. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable due to guide scheduling.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Safety is our absolute priority. If water levels in the canyons are too high or conditions are unsafe, we will offer an alternative date, a different lower-risk activity, or a full refund.
